And what is it for? BEWARE!!! what peple have said is true BUT!!! If you have the little bent arrow, it lets you know it is a shortcut, delete it and no real problems, HOWEVER it will not diffrientiate between a short cut and an actual file held on the desktop, you may end up by accidently removing an actual file.
